Critical point dryer is effective in drying fragile samples. It preserves the surface structures which could otherwise be damaged due to surface tension when changing from the liquid to gaseous state.The solvent used in the critical point dryer is ultrapure isopropanol. The maximum sample size is 2 inches in diameter.
